Our 55th is right around the corner...

Lots of progress and several changes as we approach the moment of our June tribal gathering.

We've moved our reunion headquarters from Tyler House to the Center for Economic Development (CDE), which we knew as the Cluett Center, and which was known before as Saint Anthony Hall. It's a great deal because it places us closer to the center of action.

The final Zoom 68 session in late March was a huge success with over 45 classmates in attendance. It brought us tantalizingly close to our regrettably postponed 2020 trip to New Orleans. David Marcello and John Kinabrew gave us the insider's view of the city (including tips about where to find the best Sazerac in town) and introduced us to some impressive initiatives for change and growth in the city.

We are providing both Powerpoint presentations here on the website and each Zoom talk on our Class of 1968 YouTube channel.

We've also been looking at some of the statistics for our website, and wanted to let everyone that it has a surprisingly large audience beyond our class. We offer up one of the most read pages on site, a tribute to Prof. Robert Barrow, Stephen Sondheim's mentor at Williams.

Finally, for those curious about our 55th Reunion home, we give a brief history of the building that began as Delta Psi, including some speculations about the current status of the secret society it once housed.

Coming soon: reunion news as it happens, more podcasts featuring classmates who have found themselves in exciting but perhaps unexpected places, a mega trivia blast, and more contemplations on the Berkshires.

Center for Development Economics - Past and Present

The Class of 1968 has new digs for its June 2023 55th Reunion: the Center for Development Economics.

That’s great for us; we’re much closer now to the center of the action (Tyler would have been a bit of a hike).

Learn more about the Center and its intriguing and somewhat mysterious history...

Greatest Hits: Stephen Sondheim's Williams mentor

Our website can have a wide reach. Sometimes we get an an avalanche of hits from around the world. When the legendary Stephen Sondheim '50 died, the New York Times obituary referenced Sondheim's mentor Robert Barrow, Professor of Music at Williams. Readers wanted more information about Barrow and they first found it on our website, by droves. Bob Chambers' tribute to Professor Barrow remains one of most popular articles. Even several years later, an Internet search for Professor Barrow brings up his tribute in first place.

Announcing the 55th Reunion Team

Here's the team that's getting behind our 55th:

And here's a message to all from Reunion Co-Chair Mike Herlihy

Our warmest greetings for The Great Class of 1968:
Plans are underway for our reunion this June. Our goal is a simple, comfortable and safe getting together of as many classmates, spouses, widows and family members as can make it to Williamstown. For those that can’t travel to Williams, we would like to facilitate some connection opportunities while we reach out to fellow classmates. It’s time to relax, kick back and reflect together on our interesting lifetimes.
