Winter solstice is upon us, once again
Goodbye 2022, looking ahead to June 2023
Williams Class of '68 Logo
As we close out the year, energy and momentum are gathering quickly for our 55th Reunion (June 8-11, 2023). Please give thought to joining your classmates next June as you move through the holiday season.
As times marches on, each opportunity to get together becomes more precious.

Since we last wrote, planning and logistics work for the 55th have taken center stage. People are getting busy, and you can also volunteer. See the announcement from Reunion Co-Chair Mike Herlihy below for details.

We follow from autumn into early winter via the magnificent photography of Kate Abbott '04 who shares new views from familiar places (Sheep Hill among them) but also provides images from the spectacular winter lights display at Naumkeag Gardens in Stockbridge, which didn't exist in our day.

Also, please don't let your brain get lazy. We've put together some interesting and challenging questions about Williams history, including some more items about more recent days (Shapiro, Falk). You can also learn about Williamstown(s).

We continue our series of articles on the Berkshires, with a report on "Neutron" Jack Welch and his impact, long and short term, on the Berkshires. Not everyone knows that he began his career as a chemical engineer at GE in Pittsfield, some 4 years before we arrived on campus.

Special wishes from the Williams 68 Web Team to all classmates for a warm, safe, and healthy holiday season. We'll be back early next year with more podcasts, articles, and reports from the front lines. We're always open to new ideas about content, and especially eager to display photos of classmates and their families.

Announcing the 55th Reunion Team

Here's the team that's getting behind our 55th:

And here's a message to all from Reunion Co-Chair Mike Herlihy

Our warmest greetings for The Great Class of 1968:
Plans are underway for our reunion this June. Our goal is a simple, comfortable and safe getting together of as many classmates, spouses, widows and family members as can make it to Williamstown. For those that can’t travel to Williams, we would like to facilitate some connection opportunities while we reach out to fellow classmates. It’s time to relax, kick back and reflect together on our interesting lifetimes.

Below we see captures of Chestnut Trail, …

GE CEO Jack Welch got his start in Pittsfield. But then...

If you picked up a business newspaper or magazine in the 1980s and 1990s, superstar executive Jack Welch was the man of the hour. He served as the high profile CEO of GE from 1981 to 2001. His every word and corporate move were studied and it seemed he could do no wrong.
