Carl Wies

Many of us may remember Carl Wies as a gifted athlete, especially on the hockey rink. Fewer may know of his career as an architect. At our request, he’s sent us the collection of images below, together with this summary. We are proud to present both the summary and the pictures.

Carl writes: “The 14 photos attached show some of the projects I worked on during my thirty-year career at Newman Architects in New Haven, CT.  We designed a wide variety of commercial and institutional projects, including public schools, municipal buildings, college and university student housing, dining, classroom, and athletic facilities, apartment buildings, low income housing, churches, parking structures, and outpatient medical facilities.  Our projects are concentrated in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York State, with some farther afield.”
